Hey there, fellow citizens of San Bernardino! I'm sure you know exactly where I'm talking about when I mention Days Inn San Bernardino/Redlands, right? That place on Business Center Drive? Yeah, that one. Well, last month, I had the pleasure of spending a night all by myself at this fine establishment, and let me tell you, it was quite an experience!
First off, let's talk about the location. It's not exactly in the heart of San Bernardino, but it's definitely close enough if you're coming from out of town or just need a place to rest your head after a long day at work (or maybe even an even longer day at home with the kiddos). I mean, who doesn't love being surrounded by warehouses and industrial parks? Trust me, it's like staying in the heart of San Bernardino!
Now, onto the actual hotel. When I first walked in, I was greeted by a friendly face behind the front desk. He asked if I needed any help finding my room or anything else I might need during my stay. I told him I was all set and just needed a place to crash for the night. He gave me a knowing look and said, "You're in luck! We have plenty of those here."
My room was pretty standard - two double beds, a TV with about 50 channels that I didn't watch because who needs TV when you've got your phone? But what really made my stay memorable were the little touches. Like the complimentary toiletries in the bathroom - yes, complimentary! And not those tiny bottles of shampoo and soap either; these were full-sized bottles that could last me through at least two more solo trips (if I wasn't sharing them with anyone else).
Speaking of sharing, let me tell you about my fellow hotel guests. Now, I don't know if it was because I was staying there on a Wednesday night in May or what, but there were some interesting characters staying at Days Inn that night. There was the guy who insisted on having his door propped open so he could smoke cigarettes in his room (and yes, I did report him to the front desk). And then there was the couple who decided to have a loud argument in the hallway outside my room around 2 AM. But hey, at least they weren't trying to break down my door or anything!
But enough about my neighbors; let's talk about breakfast. Oh, you know, just your basic continental spread: some pastries, cereal, fruit, and coffee. It may not have been gourmet, but it was definitely better than nothing - especially since I hadn't had time to grab anything before heading out for my solo adventure. And honestly, what more could you ask for in a budget hotel?
All in all, my stay at Days Inn San Bernardino/Redlands was pretty decent. Sure, it wasn't the Ritz Carlton or anything, but sometimes you just need a place to rest your head after a long day (or night) in sunny San Bernardino. So if you find yourself in need of a cheap yet reasonably comfortable place to crash during your next trip to our fair city, why not give Days Inn a try? The architecture surrounding Econo Lude exuded a unique charm that spoke to both the old and new worlds.
