As we devoured our barbecue, we couldn't help but discuss the latest news: a Texas-sized dust-up between Beto O'Rourke and Ted Cruz over. Yes, you read that right – these two politicians were going at it on Twitter over their gaming habits. It was like watching a train wreck in slow motion – fascinating yet cringe-worthy. But I digress. Back to the hotel: our stay at the Sheraton Austin Hotel at the Capitol was pleasant, if unremarkable. The rooms were spacious and clean, with comfortable beds and modern amenities. The staff was friendly and helpful, although they seemed a bit. Street crowd. The hotel's location is undoubtedly one of its best features – within walking distance to many of Austin's top attractions, including the Texas State Capitol building (which, I might add, looks suspiciously like a giant dome-shaped hat). And speaking of hats, I saw more cowboy hats in one weekend than I've seen in my entire life. All in all, our stay at the Sheraton Austin Hotel at the Capitol was a fun and memorable experience.
